A feel-good atmosphere in a functional framework
Functional, cost-optimized and employee-oriented – these keywords were used during the planning phase for the new Sartorius Cellca laboratory and office complex.
The result is a building complex consisting of a frame structure, which extends over 3 floors with 2 floors full of laboratory rooms, as well as a connected triangular building. In frame construction, cells and other products for the pharmaceutical industry are developed and produced, among other things.
Qualitative interior lighting
The workplaces in the laboratories are illuminated with high-quality, cost-optimized light strips that are connected to a daylight-dependent control to ensure a constant level of light. Functional lighting in the corridors was implemented using downlights. The laboratory structure on the ground floor gives way to think tanks, conference rooms, printer stations, tea kitchens, individual offices and small seating islands, creating an office structure that extends into the adjacent triangular building.
In addition to daylight, the office zones are illuminated by workplace-related lights, which are integrated into the storage space furniture in addition to the height-adjustable workstations. The lights were developed for the Sartorius site in Göttingen and are used as “standard products” in other Sartorius AG sites.
When employees switch on the workplace lights individually, the office is illuminated exclusively by indirect light. The individually unchangeable programming ensures a dynamic course throughout the day, which supports the human biorhythm and thus the well-being of the employees as naturally as possible. With a warm 2,700 K in the morning, over a cool 5,000 K at noon and again 2,700 K towards evening, the color temperature is based on the course of natural light.
The automatic dimming of the indirect light takes place in conjunction with the current daylight entries. In this way, the workplace areas are always illuminated with 500 lux in accordance with the standard.
If desired, a direct light component can be switched on individually. Monitoring in Göttingen has shown that this is rarely used. During normal working hours, the balanced indirect lighting is often completely sufficient and is also widely accepted. To avoid the formation of a light island, the luminaires are networked with one another. When the indirect light of a single workplace lamp is activated manually, the light of the neighboring lamps is automatically dimmed. This makes the atmosphere more comfortable and, thanks to the dimmed state of the ambient lights, the lighting remains economical.
