Stuttgart | Kunstgebäude
The Stuttgart Art Building, located at Schlossplatz in the center of the state capital, was extensively renovated from mid-2021 to early 2024 for more than 20 million euros. The lighting design was developed in collaboration with the client Vermögen und Bau Baden-Württemberg and the architects of Blocher Partners. The architectural lighting had to meet high standards, both to emphasize the architecture and to enable a multifunctional museum and exhibition function.
The entrance lighting welcomes visitors in an elegant and streamlined manner. One then enters the Marmorsaal, where a monumental light ceiling can create various lighting atmospheres. The architectural highlight of the building is the more than 20-meter-high dome hall, where both fixed artificial lighting and additional exhibition lighting are possible. The exterior lighting was also renewed and gently highlights the facade and the distinctive golden stag. The light colors, switching times, and manner of illumination are in accordance with the nature conservation law of Baden-Württemberg.
